Marty’s photo of the day #5033: I rarely shoot people photos, but in this instance, I couldn’t resist. Deb and I were in New Guinea, visiting a tiny village. We walked over to the school, where the children—all dressed up—stood outside and sang a song for us. That’s when I spotted this boy, off to the side, looking at his smartphone. That anyone would have a smartphone in such a remote area would have surprised me if I hadn’t previously seen a tower near the center of the village. I don’t know the boy’s story, but if I had to guess, I’d say he’s the child of the teacher—not yet old enough to participate himself.
