Marty’s photos of the day #4576: This is the Bear Glacier in British Columbia. I use a different picture of this glacier in my college show, Around the World in 90 Minutes, to talk about climate change (that lake wasn’t there 75 years ago). Deb and I had planned on visiting the Bear Glacier again this past fall when we were going to redo our trip to the top of Canada, but extreme forest fires forced us to cancel that adventure and go to Vancouver Island instead. This photo is roughly 20 years old, and I really wanted an updated photo to show how much the glacier has melted since then (I’ve seen photos on-line, but it’s not the same as being there and taking the photo myself). Needless to say, the glacier has shrunk.
Thank Republicans and their 40+ year War on the Environment for a large portion of that. Republicans own the catastrophic effects of climate change just as much as they own every mass shooting in America. They’re such “good Christians”!
