Marty’s photo of the day #3099: When Deb and I were in Italy a year ago, Florence was one of our stops. This is Duomo di Firenze (The Florence Cathedral). Actually, it’s just a small part of the massive complex. Without an airplane or a hot air balloon, it was literally impossible to get back far enough to get everything in one photo. Whether in Spain, France, or Italy, I love exploring the old Catholic Churches. The interior and exterior architecture is just stunning. Even so, it makes me angry that Catholic Churches have so much wealth, yet get away with declaring bankruptcy when they, apparently, can’t pay off all of the law suits they’ve lost/settled from years and years of child abuse and rapes by their priests and nuns.
The amazing Duomo di Firenze
