One of the best things about writing my new science fiction comedy novel, Time is Irreverent, was that from Christmas until yesterday, I got to spend 10 to 12 hours a day in a completely different world, with no Donald Trump or greedy Republican politicians. Well, since the villain in my book is an insane egomaniacal US President, I suppose Trump was with me in spirit. But at least I could control his fate.
Now that Time is Irreverent is finished, it’s much harder for me to escape our real-life insane egomaniacal US President—plus a cruel Republican congress that delights in taking health care away from everyday people and passing the savings onto the super-rich.
Normally after finishing a book, I’m so burned out that I don’t feel like writing for months. This time I want to go right back into the artificial world I created. Fortunately, I’ve planned Time is Irreverent to be the first in a series of books with the same core characters. So after coming out of my hole and seeing the Republicans, I’m ready to go back in and start writing book two. Let me know when it’s safe to come back out.
