Republicans prefer to spend money on things like further bloating our military, their damn wall, and tax cuts for the rich (which steals from government services that benefit us all). Democrats prefer to spend money on things like renewable energy, public education, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Planned Parenthood.
Why should only Republicans be shielded from paying for things they object to—like Planned Parenthood and Meals on Wheels? I know I object to the Trump wall as much as Republicans object to allowing women to make choices about their own bodies. So let’s pass a bill that allows citizens to mark-off on their tax return what services their taxes pay for. That way, Republicans can fund their wars, bigotry, and billionaires, while Democrats can fund programs that make the world a better place for everyone.
