Marty’s photo of the day #3424: Dogs are masters of routines. Nellie is just a year old, but she has every routine down, including that we go for a walk at five o’clock each night (her ability to tell time is uncanny). Our walks are generally around the perimeter of the land Deb and I own surrounding our house. Since we live in the forest, Nellie brings home some sort of stick each night—which then becomes the item she’ll use for a vigorous game of keep-away. Often her definition of a stick is closer to a downed tree or twelve-foot-long branch. It’s amazing the size of the wood products she tries to carry home. Fortunately, she usually gives up on the trees after dragging them for a while and moves on to something more reasonable. Today’s photo shows Nellie with one of her prized possessions.
