Marty’s photo of the day #3076: This is the tiny village of Lesponne in Southern France. When Deb and I were in France, working on the Europe chapter for my first book, Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents, we didn’t have a GPS or hotel reservations. We basically roamed, with the only goal of eventually making it from Spain to Switzerland. On this night we stopped at a Chamber of Commerce and they set us up with a tiny hotel/restaurant some 30 miles away. That two-room hotel is on the left in this picture. There were no signs anywhere. We just had to know where to go. Our stay was delightful. However, you wouldn’t want to get drunk and step out the front door—because you’d end up right in the middle of the only road in town!
A delightful stay in Southern France
