Last week Donald Trump called Michigan’s Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El‑Sayed a “radical jihadist,” and this morning he had Homeland Security raid Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s house.

Obviously, Trump and his Republican minions believe their only chance of not getting slaughtered in the upcoming midterms is to fire up their base of bigots.

I still remember my American history classes from back in my school days. The lesson that stuck with me the most was that diversity was the key to making America the greatest country in the world. Now, of course, such teachings would be protested by Republicans as “woke.” How ironic that Donald Trump’s political slogan is “Make America Great Again,” when he and his minions are doing their best to destroy what made America great in the first place.
