Marty’s photo of the day #4907: It’s a fish photobomb! While snorkeling the Raja Ampat of Indonesian New Guinea last month, I tried hard to get a good horned bannerfish (lower) photo, but they would always turn at the last moment and never seemed to be in crisp focus. Late in the trip, I thought I had my shot only to find out it was photobombed by a gorgeous parrotfish. There are roughly 90 species of parrotfish, and the one in my photo doesn’t appear in any of my identification books, and my internet searches couldn’t find it either. So, the fish I wasn’t even trying to photograph is the star of this photo.
