Marty’s photo of the day #4828: When I was in kindergarten, my parents gave me a Diana camera. The first thing I did with it was shoot a roll of film featuring my feet and those of my friends. My dad threatened to take away the camera if I did it again. He was never creative. Fortunately, I didn’t inherit my dad’s lack of creativity—or his protruding ears for that matter.

I thought of my dad when I photographed my feet earlier this year, floating through the mangroves off the coast of Belize.
