Marty’s photos of the day #4756: We’ve reached the third and final Baby Robin Day. As many of you remember, two Thursdays ago (MPOD #4742), I posted about the 3 baby robins in a nest atop an outdoor speaker on the back side of Deb’s and my house and promised to update every week.

Here’s this week’s update: On Tuesday, I checked the nest and saw only 2 chicks (top photo). At the time, I worried, not realizing that one had already flown away. Then, just before dark, a second check of the nest revealed just one chick, trying to get the nerve to jump (second photo).

The nest is now empty, but since robins lay eggs two or three times a season, I will keep an eye on it for a fresh batch of eggs. Oh, and I can hear the chicks chirping in the trees, so they’re doing just fine.

For those who missed my two previous Baby Robin Day posts, I’m including the nest photos from those Thursdays. Holy shit, they grow up fast!
