Elephants in the Rainforest

Elephants in the Rainforest

Marty’s photo of the day #4446: I photographed this mother and baby elephant in the rainforest of Borneo. My camera had a small zoom lens on it, so I wasn’t as close as this looks. Nellie and the River

Nellie and the River

Marty’s photo of the day #4442: Nellie looks like a black lab, but she’s actually half golden retriever and half Australian cattle dog/dingo. When Deb and I adopted her, she didn’t want to have a thing to do with water. But eventually her golden retriever side won out over her Australian side. Now she loves […]

A Pretty Fox

Marty’s photo of the day #4441: Here’s another motion-sensing camera shot from last week on the Essen Wildlife Refuge. This fox lives on the lower level of the refuge, frequently passing by the camera near the seasonal pond.

When in Europe, I enjoy touring old churches. They all feature spectacular architecture, albeit a bit scary. If you enlarge this photo, you will see dozens of baby heads, mounted […]

Pelican Wings

Four Years With Nellie

Four Years With Nellie

She was a stray, approximately 10 months old, weighing just 42 pounds. She now weighs 63 pounds, which is down from a peak of 70 pounds, after three months of inactivity due […]
