Marty’s photo of the day #4442: Nellie looks like a black lab, but she’s actually half golden retriever and half Australian cattle dog/dingo. When Deb and I adopted her, she didn’t want to have a thing to do with water. But eventually her golden retriever side won out over her Australian side. Now she loves the water up to the point where her feet can no longer touch the ground. Once she swam across the Judith River to follow me, but she wasn’t happy about it. This photo shows Nellie and me playing in the Bitterroot River a few weeks ago. For a few seconds, she had to swim, but quickly made it to the shallower water she prefers.
