Marty’s photo of the day #4810: In the past, I had only been able to photograph burrowing owls at dusk. In fact, last week while staying at the American Prairie, I did just that for two evenings in a row. Those dusk photos turned out pretty good, especially considering the distance and how high I had to pump up the ISO on my camera. Then, on our third morning, we found two sets of burrowing owls hanging out when it was bright enough for normal camera settings. In this morning photo, I have both an adult and a juvenile burrowing owl. I’ll post more owl photos from our visit in the coming weeks.

Photographed in the American Prairie (Montana).
