Marty’s photo of the day #4536: While on Vancouver Island, I saw all these birds that reminded me of Antarctic skuas. Obviously, they weren’t skuas, and they commonly hung out with the herring gulls. I didn’t get around to identifying them until this morning. It turns out that they were juvenile herring gulls. This is one of those juveniles, taking off along the Johnstone Strait.
