Marty’s photo of the day #4551: I saw quite a few bald eagles last month on Vancouver Island and concentrated on photographing them in flight. Usually I’d see them far away, eating a fish on a spit of land, and start photographing them with my largest lens (I don’t use a big honking lens because I’m a mobile photographer, not a stand-in-place photographer). But when they’d take off, I’d usually lose them and have to find them again in my lens—not an easy thing to do—and then refocus. I missed a ton of shots, but this is one of the photos that turned out.
