Marty’s photo of the day #4323: I bought a new Canon R50 camera and three lenses to go with it. I’m eager to fully test my new equipment, but the changeover from winter to spring in Montana is the worst time of the year for photography. The lighting is poor, the wildlife numbers are down, the flowers haven’t bloomed, and the general color theme of the landscape is brown. So other than when a pregnant moose and a bull moose hung around the Essen Wildlife Refuge for a day, my main subjects in recent weeks have been deer. Not that there’s anything wrong with deer, it’s just that our resident mountain lion and sasquatch would be more exciting to photograph.
