Marty’s photo of the day #3661: This is the Peel River ferry crossing, one hundred miles before reaching the village of Inuvik at the top of Canada. When Deb and I were here as part of my first book, “Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents,” our dogs Kate and Annie joined us. It was the ultimate dog trip! Deb and I are hoping our new dog, Nellie, can experience a similar adventure in a top-of-Canada trip we have planned for September. Unfortunately, Canada still isn’t letting Americans into their country, and the processing of our passport renewals has been stalled in Washington, DC for three months, with no guarantee that they will arrive on time. We are working on an alternative trip, should the government(s) of Canada and/or the United States squash our dog’s dream trip.
