Marty’s photo of the day #2933: Is this a flying snake? While I was on the island of Borneo, I saw a flying squirrel, a flying frog, a flying lemur, and a gliding lizard. Flying snakes (technically they glide) exist on Borneo, but there are so many animals there that have yet to be properly studied. You are looking at a grey-tailed racer. Very little is known about this snake, but when I watched her, she moved in such a malleable way that it looked like she might be able to spread out her rib cage and catch the wind like the other species of flying snake on the island.
