Marty’s photo of the day #2872: Of all the snakes one could encounter anywhere in the world, eyelash vipers may be the coolest. First, they come in a variety of colors, from green to brown to pink to yellow to white—and all those colors can come from the same litter. Second, they have rough scales rather than smooth scales—including a unique set of scales that protrude above each eye to give the appearance of eyelashes. And yes, they are venomous—though their bite is seldom fatal to humans.
