Marty’s photo of the day #2360: Last night’s election provided the best political news in, well . . . more that a year. So in honor of the Republicans getting their ass kicked last night, I went in search of a happy political photo on my hard drive. This photo, from 2006, shows me with Montana’s Democratic Governor Brian Schweitzer. Brian had come to the Bitterroot Valley to help with my wife’s campaign for state senate, as well as other Democratic campaigns. I took the opportunity to present the governor with a copy of my first book, Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents. Here I’m telling the governor the story of Deb and me surviving a hippo attack in Zimbabwe.
