Nature photography, political rants, and Martyman laughs from the ten-time award-winning author of "Cool Creatures, Hot Planet," "Endangered Edens," and the "Time Is Irreverent" series.

Mountain wildflowers

Marty’s photo of the day #3660: This photo of mountain wildflowers in Montana dates back to 2002. I shot it with my first digital camera: a Sony Mavica CD400 that recorded onto a CD. Though it was heavy and slow, that camera had a high-quality lens and did an amazing job on still subjects. Also, the laser-assisted focus worked great for in-the-dark photos in rainforests. I still have that camera, but haven’t turned it on in more than 15 years.
