Marty’s photo of the day #2906: Today’s photo is from my second book, Endangered Edens: Exploring the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica, the Everglades, and Puerto Rico. You are looking at Fred the Eyelash Viper. He lived on a large leaf just outside the front door of the cabin Deb and I rented in Costa Rica. We’d stop to say “hi” every time we walked past him. Other than a little minor shifting, Fred stayed in the same position the entire week we were there. Then, on the day we departed, he moved on to another leaf. Obviously, he knew the cabin’s next renters wouldn’t appreciate him like we did!
