Marty’s photo of the day #3524: As an author, I can’t think of anything that would piss me off more than working for months and months on a book, only to die before it was published. Even if someone tries to finish the deceased author’s book (as has happened for some), it’s never as good as if the author had brought it across the finish line. In my case, I’m healthy, but in the era of COVID-19 and living in a region filled with delusional right-wingers armed to the teeth, you can’t be sure of anything. For my latest, Hits, Heathens, and Hippos: Stories from an Agent, Activist, and Adventurer, my first goal was to get a copy of the book to my son (so he could learn shocking things about his parents); then to concentrate on publishing worldwide.
Today, the hippo is proud to roar, “Hits, Heathens, and Hippos has been published! And Marty isn’t a pissed-off cadaver!”
As of now, the book is available in paperback and Kindle formats on Amazon only. By next week, Barnes & Noble, Powell’s Books, and most other on-line retailers will have it too. Local bookstores will follow at a slower pace, but all should be able to order it within a week or two. Here’s the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VHP6N2F
