Marty’s photo of the day #2246: Good morning from Nampa, Idaho. Last night Deb and I saw a great outdoor concert with X, Blondie, and Garbage. Although we came primarily for Garbage, Blondie was great as well. After John Doe and Exene Cervenka of X did a short acoustic show, Garbage took the stage. At the time, it was 104 degrees outside. As lead singer Shirley Manson said, “If I collapse on stage, I’m not faking it. Call an ambulance.” Despite the heat, Garbage did not hold back, and by the end of the show, Shirley had trouble standing and sang most of the last song from her back and from her knees. What a great show! As I’ve written before, “musicians are the best athletes,” and Garbage proved it last night.
I will have more photos and stories later, but Deb and I are renting a Forest Service cabin on the way home. So we are off to a completely different kind of adventure!
