Marty’s photo of the day #4704: This is another photo of our spring moose, Martha. She has been hanging out in the Essen Wildlife Refuge for a few weeks now. Unless I’m traveling, not a day goes by that I don’t walk at least part of the 25 forested acres Deb and I protect for wildlife. And after doing so for 28 years, my eyes can easily spot anything that is different from the day before, which is usually an animal. I bring this up because I was photographing Martha a few days ago, when she disappeared right before my eyes. Yes, an animal bigger than a horse was able to hide less than 50 feet away from me. Eventually I was able to find her, as seen in this photo. Martha thought it was so funny!
