Marty’s photo of the day #4630: Last night my wife, Deb, pointed out that Eve and her daughter, Lara Flynn Boa, were doing their “two-headed snake thing.” So I went upstairs to grab my camera, and then our dog, Nellie, decided to help with the photo session by placing her head between the lens and the snakes at every opportunity. Despite Nellie’s enthusiastic assistance, I was able to get this shot. At 23 years of age, Eve is an old rainbow boa. About five years ago, her eyes lost their shine, and I’m almost positive she’s blind. But a boa’s sense of smell and sense of heat is much more important to them than sight, so Eve gets along just fine with her presumed blindness.
