About the photo: While camping in a remote area along the Johnstone Strait on Vancouver Island, Deb and I found all sorts of abandoned items hidden in the woods—from the S.S. Minnow to old truck bed campers to an old makeshift shower to a broken down plywood cabin. My first thought was “people are such fucking pigs,” but I also wondered about the history of this abandoned junk. My best guess is that many years ago people hid out here and were eventually moved out by the Canadian government.
