Marty’s photo of the day #4036: Although I’ve often mentioned that I live in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana, I’ve never posted a picture of a bitterroot. The roots of this herb are edible and have been traditionally used by indigenous people in a variety of foods. They grow wild around my house, but because they are so low to the ground, they aren’t always easy to spot. I photographed this one yesterday.
