Marty’s photo of the day #4055: In the coming days, I will be featuring quite a few wildflower photos from Deb’s and my backpacking trip. Earlier this week, we backpacked to the May Creek Cabin, which is a U.S. Forest Service cabin in the Anaconda Mountain Range of southwestern Montana. Last year, a huge forest fire blew along the mountainsides, but the valley floor, where we were hiking, remained green—thanks to the beavers. As a result, much of the larger wildlife has yet to return to the area. For me that meant no wildlife photos and lots of wildflower photos. Today I’m posting a lupine, growing next to the creek that passes by the cabin. I was leaning against a stump, reading a book, when I looked up and saw this perfect lupine, screaming, “Photograph me!”
A perfect wild lupine
