A mother and her fawnsJuly 4, 2022Written by Marty Essen Marty’s photo of the day #4031: I always keep a camera by my side, while working in my front porch outdoor office, because I never know who is going to pay me a visit. Yesterday, I was uploading some revised book covers, when I looked up to see a doe feeding her two fawns. This doe has been hanging around, and a week ago I saw one of the fawns she stashed, but I didn’t know she had two of them. (Or, of course, it could be a different fawn—there are several around here that look alike.) The fawns had a leisurely breakfast before one decided to go on a walkabout, forcing its mother and the still-hungry sibling to follow, away from the house.
