Marty’s photo of the day #3962: Hello one final time from Athens, West Virginia. In a few hours, I drive 180 miles south to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport to begin my trip back home to Montana (arriving near midnight). Today’s photo is from my behind the scenes tour this past Saturday at the Tanglewood Nature Center in Elmira, New York. I was excited when I learned that the nature center had a black vulture (a rescue animal). Ian, the man taking me into the basement to see all the birds, said, “Are you sure you want to go into the vulture’s cage? It really stinks in there.” He was right about that! But to get this close to a vulture, in any other way, you’d almost have to be roadkill!
