Marty’s photo of the day #3926: I shot this photo of our tiny ship, the Professor Multanovskiy, from the shore of Antarctica. Deb and I selected the Professor Multanovskiy, because it was the smallest ship we could take to Antarctica. Back then, it was cool to be on a Russian ship, and we traveled to the continent with people from sixteen different countries. Now being on such a ship would have a completely different feeling.
I try to remember that just like a substantial number of Americans (Deb and I included) opposed the U.S. invasion of Iraq, a substantial number of Russians oppose the Russian invasion of Ukraine. More often than not, it’s the leaders who suck (Bush and Putin), not the people they lead.
