Marty’s photo of the day #3892: Very few photos give me the feeling this one does. It was three in the morning, and everyone was asleep on our ship, including the captain (the ship was running on autopilot). I knew we were approaching Antarctica, so I slipped out of bed and walked out onto the bow. The first sighting of Antarctica—and I had it all to myself!
I can still feel the chill in my bones when I look at this photo and reminisce about that magic moment.
