Marty’s photo of the day #3043: For me, this photo is more about victory than anything. During the week I was in Costa Rica, the macaws frustrated me. I could hear them, and sometimes I’d see them for a second or two as they flew through the rainforest. It wasn’t until my very last hike before heading back to the United States that one paused long enough for me to photograph. She was almost too close—landing directly above me in a tree, near the beach.
