Marty’s photo of the day #2886: Yesterday, I shared a story about essentially hiking into two black bears in a narrow Yellowstone National Park valley. The photo (see #2885) with that post showed the male bear, with a black coat. This photo shows his companion, with a brown coat. This bear didn’t stand up to show off its genitals (see #2882), so I don’t know its sex. But because this bear’s face is much more slender, I’m going to assume she’s his mate, or perhaps his sister. Whatever the case, I think she was the prettier of the two bears.
