Marty’s photo of the day #2903: This is the Split Rock Lighthouse, on Lake Superior, just north of where I lived until I was six, in Two Harbors, Minnesota. I spent the first twenty years of my life living on Lake Superior. When I lived in Duluth and worked in radio, two songs summed up the lake: In the summer, when it was beautiful, it was a local novelty song called “Colder by the Lake.” And in the winter, when it was spooky, it was Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” I will always love Lake Superior.
