Marty’s photo of the day #2144: Here’s a Burton’s legless lizard that I photographed in Queensland, Australia. Why isn’t this a snake? It has external ear-openings, little skin flaps near its cloaca—where it used to have legs before it evolved—and if you grabbed its tail, the tail would fall off.
