I watched the Democratic presidential debate last night. I still like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders (though Bernie-or-Busters practically ruin him for me), and Kamala Harris. Even so, there is no reason to make up my mind this early. I will say that on my scorecard Cory Booker made a giant leap up, and I thought both Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer did nice jobs too. Moving down a bit on the card for me were two who I have liked since the beginning: Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg. In my opinion, they didn’t do themselves any favors last night. This process is fascinating to watch, and I remember major political commentators claiming just a year ago that the Dems wouldn’t have anyone capable of defeating Trump. How wrong they were. This is a good slate!
