Marty’s photo of the day #4186: Salt Lake City, Utah is a seven-hour drive from where Deb and I live in Montana, so we occasionally drive there for concerts at the USANA Amphitheater. Once there, we also visit Antelope Island. When we were there earlier this year, to see Evanescence, much of the Great Salt Lake surrounding Antelope Island had dried up. But when we were there in 2016, to see Joan Jett, the lake around the island supported spectacular flocks of shorebirds. This photo shows red-necked phalaropes (non-breeding plumage) on a migration layover.
