Marty’s photo of the day #3583: One of my regrets from the travels for my first book, “Cool Creatures, Hot Planet: Exploring the Seven Continents,” was that digital cameras were just becoming popular, and I made some poor camera choices for a few of the trips. Instead of trying to save a few bucks, I should have sucked it up and bought the best Canon digital SLR available at the time. These flamingos off the coast of Southern France are a perfect example. Deep mud prevented me from getting close enough for a good shot with the camera I had. Oh well!! At least you can tell they are flamingos.
