I’m tired of right-wingers accusing liberals of hypocrisy if they believe Joe Biden, not Tara Reade. I believe women’s sexual assault claims should be heard and respected. In fact, I even believe that the vast majority of the time it’s the women who are telling the truth, not the men. That said, there are times when women lie about sexual assaults.

I know. It happened to me. When I was in my early twenties, I was one of the top young talent managers in America. I managed a female singer who, just weeks after signing a long term contract with me, decided she wanted to go with an older, more experienced manager. When I refused to give her a release, she promptly accused me of sexual assault and promised to tell my wife and the police. I gave her an immediate release and never heard from her again (details of this will be in my next book).

I have read multiple statements from Tara Reade. None of us will likely ever know for sure what did or didn’t happen, but based on the information available at this moment, if I were on a jury, I would have no problem siding with Biden because of the inconsistencies and contradictions in Reade’s claim.

This is not hypocrisy, because in the real world every sexual assault claim is different. Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been accused of sexual assault at least twenty-five times, and we already have him on tape bragging about how he does it. Even so, I would be willing to bet that two or three of those twenty-five sexual assault claims against Trump are bogus. Therefore I ask right-wingers: How can I be a hypocrite when I believe more claims against Trump are bogus than the one claim against Biden?
