Nature photography, political rants, and Martyman laughs from the ten-time award-winning author of "Cool Creatures, Hot Planet," "Endangered Edens," and "Time Is Irreverent."

Dedicated to the Minnesota Lynx

Marty’s photo of the day #2327: This is Cub, a semi-wild lynx that I photographed in my backyard several years ago. I dedicate this photo to the Minnesota Lynx, who won the WNBA championship last night.

Of the four major sports, I like watching basketball the least. But this year the Minnesota Lynx sucked me in. I enjoy the brand of game the women play over what the men play, as it’s much more team-oriented and much less me-oriented. And being from Minnesota, it’s nice that the biggest dynasty in WNBA history is from my home state, with four league championships and two runners-up. Last night’s championship final score: Minnesota Lynx 85 – Los Angeles Sparks 76. Yay!
