I enjoy football, but I wish the NFL wasn’t so Republican. If a football player beats up his wife or girlfriend, he might get suspended for up to four games. If a football player beats his son bloody with a switch while claiming faith in God, the suspension will be longer, but when he comes back all will be forgotten, and his NFL Hall of Fame chances will be unharmed.

On the other hand, there are no gays in the NFL, just like there are no gays in Iran (yeah, right). And if you are a black superstar quarterback, who led your team to the Super Bowl, you will still be blackballed indefinitely if you protest blacks being shot by cops. God knows that kneeling during the National Anthem is the one unforgivable sin!

I could respect the NFL’s blackballing of Colin Kaepernick, if it wasn’t such blatant Republican-style false outrage. Do any of the outraged football executives or fans stand for the National Anthem when it’s played before games at sports bars? How many at-home football parties come to a stop, so everyone can respectfully stand in front of the TV for the National Anthem?

It’s all bullshit. And for fans wishing to follow Kaepernick’s example and protest at an actual game: just try to remain seated in the stands during the National Anthem or God Bless America. I guarantee you will get screamed at, get wet, get pummeled with something, or worse.

That being said, my own plan to blackball the NFL from my TV screen has failed miserably. Did you see the Vikings’ game last night? Now that their offense is no longer centered around child-beater, Adrian Peterson, they looked great! Finally us long-suffering Minnesotans have a team that could win a Super Bowl. Skol Vikings!
