The taunter of leopards

Marty’s photo of the day #2102: Last night Deb and I watched a National Geographic documentary that followed the life of a leopard. One of the humorous sections of the program was about the African squirrels that taunted the leopard when she was young—just as squirrels taunt dogs around the world. The big difference between leopards and dogs is that leopards grow up to be acrobatic tree climbers and eventually get revenge for the taunting. In fact, the leopard in the documentary—after months of failure—eventually became an expert squirrel catcher, and seemed to do it just for fun.

With that in mind, here’s one of those taunters of carnivores: a squirrel I photographed while hiking in Zimbabwe.
