Antarctica at night

Marty’s photo of the day #2101: Seasons in the Southern Hemisphere are the opposite of the Northern Hemisphere. I took this photo of the coast of Antarctica in February 2003, at three in the morning. Because of the time of year, there was always some light. Still, standing on the deck of our tiny ship, in the cold, with everyone else sleeping, was an eerie experience. When I look at this photo now, I still get a chill up my spine.
