Under the wave


Marty’s photo of the day #2026: The Drake Passage lies between the southern tip of South America and Antarctica. It’s famous for having the roughest seas in the world. While returning from Antarctica in our tiny ship, the Professor Multanovskiy, Deb and I got a taste of those seas when we hit a storm. I took this photo from the ship’s bridge, as a giant wave crashed the bow.
