Nature photography, political rants, and Martyman laughs from the ten-time award-winning author of "Cool Creatures, Hot Planet," "Endangered Edens," and the "Time Is Irreverent" series.

The Sunday Summer Tradition

Marty and Deb

Marty’s photo of the day #1834: One of Deb’s and my Sunday night summer traditions is Mexican Train and/or Scrabble on the porch, with the all-important Tanqueray and tonics and rock and roll (usually some combination of the Bodeans, Joan Jett, and Grace Potter). Deb has a slight lead in our lifetime series of both games, but I’ve been hot lately and am close to overtaking her in Mexican Train. Not that either of us cares, however, the entire point is enjoying the outdoors, the company, the music, and the laughs.
