Germaphobia Vindicated!

Wash Hands

I’m perfectly comfortable getting spattered with bat guano in a cave or having a snake crawl up inside my pants leg, but one of my personality flaws (or as I prefer to call it, “cute little quirks”) is that I’m a bit germaphobic about children. Then last week I saw this sign in the bathroom at one of the colleges I was speaking at.

I knew it! It says right there that you must wash your hands after touching “things that may carry germs,” such as “a child who has used the toilet.” And since I’ve never met a child who hasn’t used the toilet at least once in their life, my phobia is vindicated!

Isn’t it great what you can learn in college?
