Iquitos Kids

Iquitos Kids

Marty’s photo of the day #1683: I have a whole series of photos with these kids. I’ve posted some in the past, but I don’t think I’ve posted this one. Here’s the story behind the photo:

Deb and I had just returned to Iquitos, Peru after a week in the Amazon Rainforest. After checking into our hotel, Deb grabbed the first shower, so I grabbed my camera and walked the streets. A short but intense rainstorm had just ended, and these kids were playing soccer on a flooded side street. I stopped to photograph them, but soon I (one of the few white foreigners in town) became the main attraction, and all the kids mugged for the camera. Whether the kids or I had the better time is subject to debate.
